About me
As I write this, I’m realizing that “defining myself” is very difficult. Describing others comes easily to me, but when it comes to myself, I have to search for those things I take so for granted that I don’t find them worth mentioning.
First and foremost, I’m a husband and a father. I also lead a professional life as a designer and consultant at Atos (you can find more about that on LinkedIn).
My true passion lies in my role as bassist for a local big band. That’s also where the “dominant in the background” characterization comes from, and that’s also where I struggle most with the urge to be ahead of the pack. If I keep paying attention and practicing, I’ll learn that too.
I’ve learned a lot in my life, and that learning truly began when I quit school just before my 17th birthday. Until then, they taught me to read, write, and do arithmetic. Interests were sparked in broadening my general knowledge. I thank those teachers for that, and I wasn’t always the easiest student. However, school isn’t my thing. As a self-starter at heart, I learn by observing. Interest equals studying at my own fast pace.
