Bass player

A dominant role in the back ground

The drummer is the boss. They set the groove, and the conductor needs to feel like they’re in charge. The bass makes the transition from rhythm to harmony.

Tricky situations; always!

In my working life, I tend to “push” or, if you prefer, “pull.” Either way, I want to influence the tempo. As a bassist, I have to follow and completely subordinate myself to the drummer’s tempo. “Hang in the groove” is what the conductor calls it.

It was immediately clear that music is my biggest hobby.
I have no interest in football at all!

A band as a metaphor

Bass player

“A skilled musician with the ability to perform without any kind of pointless drama. Often found in a relaxed state and slightly amused by the fairly ridiculous posturing of other band members.”
